Group Attendance Policies

Preparation for your Visit

  • Programs are held drizzle or shine. If outdoor conditions are unsuitable or dangerous, a suitable indoor program relating to the scheduled topic or any topic can be substituted.
  • The majority of our programs are held outdoors. Participants should wear sturdy shoes or boots and rain gear when applicable.
  • An Environmental Educator will lead the group through the program; attending adults are expected to stay and assist the group when necessary to provide an enjoyable experience for all involved.
  • Child discipline is the responsibility of attendant adults, not the staff of TNC.

Arrival and Departure

  • Visit our Contact & Directions page to find us.
  • Please pull into the nature center parking lot and load and unload in the parking lot. It is unsafe to unload or park in the cul-de-sac.
  • If the lot is full, participants may park on Hudson Avenue and walk into the center.
  • For Field Trips, groups can expect to be greeted in the parking lot by an Environmental Educator. For all other groups, please check in with the front desk to learn where to meet your educator.
  • You are welcome to walk on the trails, explore the museum room or browse our library before and after the program.
  • Programs begin and end at the time listed on the confirmation sheet.
  • Schedule transportation accordingly, and allow time for bathroom breaks, loading and unloading.
