Children Who Like Nature, LOVE Nature Day Camp At Tenafly Nature Center! It's HANDS-ON Environmental Education and it's great FUN!
Campers use all of their senses to explore the wonders of nature
while they attend summer nature day camp and learn about forest and pond ecosystems
through hands-on experiences, games, songs, crafts, stories, and
journalizing. Using LIVE animals and
plants campers learn about turtles, snakes, birds, frogs,
salamanders, worms, insects, flowers, seeds, trees, and much more. The older campers
especially enjoy experiencing Pfister's Pond up close and personally!
Professional Environmental Educators and assistant Counselors-In-Training help campers as they get a lot of individual attention!
Camp sessions are designed for children ages 4 to 14 years old (preschool through 8th grade). Different age groups meet each week with a maximum of 20 children in each group. Preschool and kindergarten campers attend half-day sessions while second through eighth grade campers attend full-day sessions.
Special presentations will
be given by environmental educators from throughout the state, local
wildlife rehabilitators, and others throughout the summer.
