Leave your mark by lending a hand Corporate groups play a vital role in helping Tenafly Nature Center (TNC). Your team will spend a day in our ~400 acre preserve helping to complete a project that needs lots of energy and extra hands! Small corporate groups, with 10 or fewer participants, are welcome to join TNC's volunteer Forest Defenders program, scheduled each month on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (see below for upcoming dates), and help with forest stewardship projects. Large corporate groups, or those looking to make a lasting impact, may choose one of the following exclusive projects and give your team an amazing bonding experience while supporting TNC’s mission of Enriching Lives Through Nature. Install a series of permanent display fixtures for TNC's rotating StoryWalk® trail, a TNC visitor favorite that encourages children to read. Construct an outdoor amphitheater at TNC for presentations and education events. Work to clear the area and build a small stage. Clean up current exploration features and work together to construct new play elements for our youngest visitors and their families. Plant pollinator friendly wildflowers and shrubs for visitors and wildlife to enjoy. Leave a lasting mark for you to come back and visit. Sand, paint, and enhance one of our educational spaces and make them ready for our over 1,500 annual programs. Construct a natural material fence and create a safe boundary for our education spaces. Children and adults of all ages learn important scientific principles in ecology and biology through exploration, experiments, investigation, interactive games, and open discovery. ![]() Because of donors like you Tenafly Nature Center was able to: Provided affordable hands-on nature education programs and experiences for over 26,000 local adults and children. Completed the construction of a brand new aviary, which enabled us to rescue three additional permanently injured birds of prey. Maintained the over 7 miles of trails and kept our ~400 acre preserve open for you, and 20,000 additional visitors, enjoyment and healthy hiking.
