Field Trips and TNC to Go Programs for School and Summer Groups
Programs are developed for students ages 3 and up. These programs are designed to help educators meet some of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Standards, Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, Next Generation Science Standards, and the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.
TNC to Go programs are designed to be taught at your location, however you can also schedule a field trip to Tenafly Nature Center to participate in these same experiences.
After School Enrichment
Our After School enrichment series were developed for students in grades Kindergarten-5th grade, and instill children with an appreciation of the wonders of the natural world. Professional Environmental Educators will guide your students through activities at your school. Learn about the animals of New Jersey, create natural art projects, and discover what our backyards have to offer.
Tenafly Nature Center is a registered provider with the NJ Professional Development Provider Directory, and offers workshops to train Pre-K to High school teachers, scout leaders, pre-service teachers, camp counselors, and others who work with children to utilize various environmental education resources.
Schedule a School or Summer Group Program
When you schedule a program, a time slot will be reserved for you (this includes your arrival, 1-3 programs, and optional trail and food time). Time slots can be scheduled between the hours of 9 am–9 pm, seven days a week, depending upon our educator availability. School and summer group programs are usually booked Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:30 am-2:00 pm, but other time slots can also be arranged.
Schedule Early! Spring and Fall time slots can fill months in advance, but we're open all year.
Tenafly Nature Center welcomes visitors and is open year-round. If your group of 10 or more participants is unable to schedule a program with one of our educators, contact us about a self guided visit!
