As you might know, Tenafly Nature Center conducts this Boundary Walk each year to assure that the borders of the Nature Center and Lost Brook Preserve are being properly maintained, that no encroachments on the preserved space have occurred, and that any litter accumulated behind homes and the end of streets is removed. The walk is best done in winter (or early spring!) when trees are free of leaves and the terrain is reasonably clear.
Please consider joining us at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday March 22. (March 29 is Rain Date) We will meet downstairs of the Redfield Building (visitor's center), for coffee and bagels before starting our woodland walk. We’ll divide into 3 or 4 groups, and plan to return well before 12:30. If weather is questionable, call the TNC at the number below for an update.
TNC will provide maps, trash bags, and refreshments. We advise participants to wear sturdy walking shoes and bring work gloves—we’ll often be off-trail, picking up litter as we go. Smart Phones are also useful to document our findings. Older children who can manage uneven terrain and an occasionally vigorous walk are welcome to join us.
So we can plan appropriately for refreshments & gear, please let us know if you (and/or family members or friends) will join us on March 29. Hope you can!
