Haunted Forest

Fall fun is here for the whole family at this year’s Haunted Forest! Join us a for a factual and fun introduction to the forest as nighttime approaches. These tours are not scary, and focus on appreciating our amazing local wildlife. Get up close and personal with owls, snakes and other nocturnal creatures.
Guests should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled time slot to check in and join their group. After your tour, enjoy games and make a themed craft. Gather around the campfire to enjoy refreshments and take fun photos to remember your visit.
All ages welcome. No strollers please. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held, so dress for the weather! Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

The Parking Lot will be closed for this event.

Event parking is available in downtown Tenafly at the Borough Hall/Public Library parking lot (100 Riveredge Rd., Tenafly), with free shuttle transportation to/from the event available from 12:45-6:30 pm.
Limited parking will be available along Hudson Ave. but guests will need to be able to walk on a steep incline to arrive at TNC.
Volunteer at Haunted Forest
Help bring one of TNC’s favorite fall events to life! Haunted Forest is a fun, family-friendly evening celebrating the amazing wildlife that comes alive as the sun goes down. Guests will explore the forest, meet nocturnal animals, enjoy games and crafts, and gather around the campfire.
Volunteers ages 16+ are needed to help make the evening a success!
Opportunities include:
- Set up activity and animal stations
- Assist with parking and transportation directions
- Support staff at live animal stations
- Lead groups through the forest as tour guides
- Run craft and game stations
- Help at the campfire and s’mores station
- Bring our mascot characters to life! Suit up, have fun, and make the event extra memorable. (1–2 volunteers needed!)
- Help with post-event cleanup
