Corporate Volunteer Days at TNC
Energize Your Team. Advance Your ESG Goals. Make a Visible Impact.
Looking for a meaningful way to engage employees while demonstrating your company’s commitment to sustainability and community impact? A Corporate Volunteer Day at Tenafly Nature Center (TNC) delivers all three.
Set within our nearly 400-acre nature preserve, your team will take on hands-on conservation projects that directly support habitat restoration, forest health, and environmental stewardship. These high-energy experiences strengthen collaboration, boost morale, and align your organization with tangible environmental outcomes, perfect for companies focused on ESG, CSR, and employee engagement initiatives.
Whether you’re planning a team-building event, fulfilling corporate social responsibility goals, or creating a signature volunteer experience, TNC provides impactful opportunities that employees will remember long after the day ends.
Teams of 10 or fewer are welcome to join our monthly Forest Defenders volunteer program (2nd and 4th Sundays, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm).
Larger groups can book customized, exclusive projects designed to maximize both environmental impact and team cohesion.

Create a permanent Storywalk® Trail Exhibit for young visitors to enjoy in the TNC forest. Help install StoryWalk® frames with pages from a children’s picture book along an outdoor path to read a nature-themed story while walking in the woods.
Create a fitness course at Tenafly Nature Center! Install six exercise machines for a full-body workout on the trail.
Help TNC build a prefabricated outdoor storage shed to free up valuable space for our growing collection of educational tools and materials, giving them the organized home they deserve.
The deer are hungry, and our new plantings need your help! Deer often browse freshly planted restoration areas, which can damage or kill young plants before they have a chance to establish. Join us to install an 8 ft. deer fence to give these new plants the protection they need to survive and thrive. Let’s protect and preserve together!
Plant pollinator friendly wildflowers and shrubs for visitors and wildlife to enjoy. Leave a lasting mark for you to come back and visit.

Since 1961, Tenafly Nature Center has been Enriching Lives Through Nature by fostering a wide-reaching understanding and appreciation of nature, through leadership in open-space preservation and education programs focused on nature, science and the environment.
The programs provided by TNC have a tremendous impact on those we serve. Children and adults of all ages learn important scientific principles in ecology and biology through exploration, experiments, investigation, interactive games, and open discovery.
Because of donors like you Tenafly Nature Center was able to:
Provided affordable hands-on nature education programs and experiences for over 26,000 local adults and children.
Completed the construction of a brand new aviary, which enabled us to rescue three additional permanently injured birds of prey.
Maintained the over 7 miles of trails and kept our ~400 acre preserve open for you, and 20,000 additional visitors, enjoyment and healthy hiking.
Roll up your sleeves and help us enrich lives from the ground up!
