Accessible Trail Project
Help TNC secure funding to develop the master plan for this very important project.
The goal of the Accessible Trail Project is to redevelop the yellow trail (an existing trail) to provide access to visitors of all ages and abilities, creating an inviting, useful, and memorable destination. Access to and spending time in nature improves overall physical and mental health, establishing lasting connections to the natural world and its inhabitants. Therefore accessible trails like this, help connect people to nature, inspire healthy activities, help protect natural places and make communities more livable and connected. This project funding will help TNC continue to fulfill its mission and grow to meet the rising needs of our community and beyond.
From Tenafly Nature Center’s Executive Director, Debora Davidson: “Accessibility is a crucial aspect of trail development. It is key to ensuring that trails are available to everyone, including young people, older adults and people with disabilities.”
From Tenafly Nature Center’s Board President, Peter Emmi: “Trails should be accessible for all. Access to nature is paramount to physical health and mental well-being. Trails help connect people to nature, inspire healthy activities, and by their very nature, help protect natural places – making communities more livable and connected.”
Help TNC become accessible to all!
