A New System to Better Serve Our Community

If you’ve ever attended our Animal Adaptations program, you know that nature is full of clever solutions. A Red-tailed Hawk has the visual acuity to spot its prey from high above the forest. An Eastern Box Turtle shell enables it to retreat safely when danger appears. All of the animals in our care, from dainty walking stick insects to velvety chinchillas, have adaptations that help them navigate the world around them. Nature teaches us that adaptation is essential. As environments change, species evolve, sometimes slowly and sometimes dramatically, to meet new challenges.

Organizations adapt, too.

At Tenafly Nature Center, we are beginning an adaptation of our own as we work to strengthen the connection between our organization and the people who make our mission possible: you. As we celebrate 65 years of connecting people with nature, we are proud of our long-standing traditions, and we also recognize that thoughtful changes can help ensure TNC continues to thrive for years to come.

Over the coming months, we will be integrating a new donor management, membership, program and event registration system powered by Bloomerang, designed to better support our growing community. Accessible through our current website, this updated platform will make it easier to register for programs, improve how we communicate with you, and streamline check-in at small and large events. Behind the scenes, it will help our staff manage programs, memberships, and donations more efficiently and accurately. These changes reflect feedback we have heard from many of you and other community supporters over the years about how we can improve the overall experience of connecting with TNC.

Importantly, your membership will remain active, your program history and interactions with TNC will remain intact, and no immediate action will be required from you.

Just like adaptations in nature, these changes will not all happen at once, and some may not be visible right away. Many improvements will take place quietly behind the scenes as we build and refine the new system step by step. As we reach the final stages of implementation near the end of April, there may be a few brief disruptions in program registrations, membership enrollment/renewals, and donation processing. However, we are confident the result will make connecting with TNC easier and a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
