Looking for a meaningful way to honor or memorialize a loved one? Tenafly Nature Center’s Recognition Bench Program offers a unique opportunity to celebrate someone special with a beautiful, sustainable bench placed within our scenic nature preserve.
By sponsoring a bench, you not only pay tribute to a loved one but also help provide essential amenities to our visitors. These benches are strategically placed throughout our nearly 400-acre preserve, creating inviting rest areas for all who visit. Plus, each bench comes with a personalized naming opportunity for you as the donor.
Recognition Bench Donation Options:

Every donation is 100% tax-deductible and supports Tenafly Nature Center’s environmental education programs, trail maintenance, and preservation efforts. Your generous gift helps us maintain our natural landscape while creating lasting memories for you and your loved ones.

Products are manufactured from recycled materials. The color is an approximate as actual color may vary.
Installation of Your Bench
It takes about eight weeks from the receipt of your donation to installation of the bench and plaque, though supplies, time of year, weather, and other factors can lengthen this timeframe. We will notify you via email once the installation is complete.
Once you donate a Recognition Bench, the bench becomes the property of Tenafly Nature Center. Best efforts will be made to ensure that your bench is properly maintained.
Please note that after a bench is installed, Tenafly Nature Center will provide routine maintenance and upkeep but is not responsible for replacement should the bench be damaged or destroyed.
Included with your donation is a 3”x7” bronze plaque that can be personalized in order to share the name of your loved one or celebrate your special event with Tenafly Nature Center’s visitors.
You can select the text that’s just right for you. The inscription will be placed subject to review by TNC.
Except for the plaque included with your bench donation, no additional signage is allowed.
