Discover Adventure, Learning & Wild Fun at TNC Nature Day Camps
At Tenafly Nature Center, every school break and summer vacation becomes an opportunity for children to explore, imagine, and connect with the natural world. Through hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and memorable encounters with wildlife, campers build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of nature. Whether joining us for a single day or an entire season, your child will experience the joy of learning outside, where adventure grows naturally.
School closed for the day or week? Transform their time off into an exciting outdoor adventure! TNC’s Nature Day Camp offers engaging, sensory-rich exploration of the natural world. Campers investigate forest and pond ecosystems, meet live animals, and participate in hands-on science activities that spark curiosity and creativity. With games, crafts, trail discoveries, and more, each day is packed with learning and fun in a safe, supportive environment.
Summer at Tenafly Nature Center is filled with meaningful outdoor experiences that kids remember for a lifetime. Our weekly camp program immerses children in the wonders of local ecosystems, encouraging them to explore with all their senses. From meeting ambassador animals to building nature-inspired crafts and embarking on guided hikes, every day offers a new adventure. It’s outdoor learning at its best – active, joyful, and unforgettable.
Teens ages 14–18 can take their passion for nature and leadership to the next level by becoming a Counselor-in-Training (CIT). CITs volunteer alongside TNC’s professional educators to help prepare, lead, and clean up camp activities while gaining valuable experience working with young children. It’s a fun and rewarding opportunity that builds confidence—and looks great on a resume!
Tenafly Nature Center believes every child deserves the chance to connect with nature. Thanks to generous donations and grant funding, we offer scholarships to ensure that camp is accessible regardless of a family’s socioeconomic background. These scholarships help us welcome all children into the natural world—where learning, discovery, and joy belong to everyone.
