Funding for a Forest Full of Education
Helene Bon, Grants & Events Manager
TNC is grateful for ongoing support from The Community Chest. This annual grant helps us maintain and grow our education programs despite rising costs and will help support TNC’s Summer Nature Day Camp and local children that want to participate in environmental programs.
Tenafly Nature Center is grateful for generous support from Wells Fargo for our Education for All Program initiative. This second round of funding from Wells Fargo is specifically intended to help us bring our rich environmental education programs to schools and families with low to moderate income (LMI). “Northern New Jersey is one of the most densely populated areas of the state, yet many LMI students and families still lack equitable access to green space, fresh air, and outdoor recreation,” said Tomas Porturas, Vice President, New Jersey Community Relations at Wells Fargo. “That’s why Wells Fargo is proud to support Tenafly Nature Center’s environmental education programs, which create opportunities for young people to connect with nature, learn about the local environment, and advocate for a healthier future.”
