Scout Events
Tenafly Nature Center offers these events for participants of all ages to take part in no matter if they are involved in Scouts BSA or Girl Scouts.
Take a look at the current scout event offerings!
All scouts are welcome to step into the night and discover a world of wonder with our Night Hike & Campfire program! It’s time to ditch the flashlights and let your senses guide the way. Embark on a journey through the woods, sharpen your night vision, and listen to the symphony of nature’s nightlife. With room for 30 to 60 scouts, leaders, and adult chaperones, this two-hour experience is perfect for bonding and adventure around the fire.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held under cover, substituting a nocturnal animal encounter for the night hike. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Scout families will need a code from their scout leaders. Scout leaders can get that code by emailing contact the Scout Coordinator for more information.
Non scout families and members can experience the nighttime woods and campfire at our seasonal family hike around the solstice or equinox. Visit our seasonal programs page to learn more.

FairyFest
Create a fairy house inspired by the beauty and magic of nature!
Join us for FairyFest, a no-pressure competition challenging scout teams to create a “fairy house” for Tenafly Nature Center’s Fairy Trail. This fun, creative activity maximizes teamwork while building connections with the community and nature. All teams will receive a Fairy House Festival badge for each participating scout. All fairy houses will be contributed to the TNC Fairy Trail and showcased for the community to enjoy!
