Family, Adult, Homeschool & Enrichment Program Registration and Policies
Tenafly Nature Center (TNC) accepts registrations in the order they are received. TNC reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or change programs as needed. All fees are per person unless otherwise stated.
The “For Families and Adults” programs are for individual families and adults. If you are part of a group of 10 or more participants, please visit one of our group program pages to learn more about what we can offer for your group.
Accessibility at TNC
= Indicates that the program is held on accessible surfaces for people with mobility challenges. With a weeks notice TNC staff can adapt most programs for people with different abilities

Click on an event in the Seasonal Programs section to view the details for an event.

In the events detail page (if the program is open for registration), you will see a "Register" button on the left side. Please note: if the program is full or registration has closed and a waitlist is available you may join the wait list by clicking the "Join waitlist" button

Click the "Register" button.

1. Credit cards can be processed during the registration process.

2. To pay with cash or a check, please complete the registration process online. You will then be sent an invoice via email and can return payment to us via mail with the invoice. Please make checks payable to: Tenafly Nature Center.

3. Complete payment is required to hold reservation, we reserve the right to delete incomplete registrations.

4. Prices are per person for all programs (unless otherwise noted).

Register for all programs that you intend to participate in, including "free" programs so that we can prepare.

Select programs require a minimum registration number. These may be cancelled if minimum is not reached prior to program.
Program Participant Waivers and Releases
All Tenafly Nature Center program registrants acknowledges, appreciates, certifies and agrees to the following waivers
and releases:

Waiver of Liability:
I hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury or property damage which I may have, or which hereafter accrue to me, against the Borough of Tenafly or the Tenafly Nature Center Association as a result of my participation in the program/event I am registered for. By participating in a Tenafly Nature Center program/event, I understand I/my child does so at my own risk. The Tenafly Nature Center is a natural environment, and the natural environment contains many known and unknown hazards, and it is impossible to guard against all of them. I realize that accidents and injuries can arise out of the program/event I am registered for, and accordingly, this release is intended to discharge the Borough of Tenafly or the Tenafly Nature Center Association, its trustees, officers, employees, council members, and volunteers, and any public agencies from and against any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in the program/event I am registered for in connection with any injuries or damages suffered on our premises, including, but not limited to, injury or damages occasioned by ticks or other insects, wild or domesticated animals, wild or domesticated plants and the topography of the premises. This waiver and release is binding upon my heirs and assigns. I acknowledge that I have been fully informed of the risks and dangers involved in this activity. I acknowledge that I have read, agree, and fully understand the above Warning, Waiver, and Release of Liability. I further acknowledge and agree that the reasons for my being requested to sign this Release have been fully explained to me and I understand them. If any provision, including any exception, part, phrase, or term, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the application to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby and the validity of this waiver in any and all other respects shall not be affected thereby. By registering for the program/event I agree to this instrument of my own free will and I have not been influenced or coerced by any representative or employee of the Tenafly Nature Center or Borough of Tenafly. -
Photo Release:
I hereby grant Tenafly Nature Center Association permission to use my or my child's likeness in photograph(s)/video in any and all of its publications and in any and all other media, whether now known or hereafter existing, controlled by Tenafly Nature Center Association, in perpetuity, and for other use by the Nature Center. I will make no monetary or other claim (whether for breach of privacy or otherwise) against Tenafly Nature Center Association for the use of the photograph(s)/video for educational or marketing purposes.
Program Policies
Please respect the wildlife and their homes. Take only pictures…and leave nothing.

Registrants are asked to please arrive 10-15 minutes in advance of program/event start time. If participants arrive late TNC cannot guarantee admission to the program or event.

If registration is for a specific timeslot TNC may not be able to accommodate any alterations due to participant lateness.

Stay home if you are sick.

In the event a registered participant can no longer attend, we ask they please call 201-568-6093 or email TNC at info@tenaflynaturecenter.org ASAP so that waitlisted individuals may be contacted.

Tenafly Nature Center asks all visitors, whether onsite for a self guided walk or participating in a Tenalfy Nature Center programs, to abide and follow the rules and regulations detailed as part of our lease agreement with the Borough of Tenafly. As a guest in a nature preserve, we ask that you respect these rules to keep TNC a safe, clean, natural, and pleasant place to visit. Please ensure any other people in your group or family, including children, understand them as well.

Trails are open to the public daily, one hour after sunrise until one hour prior to sunset. Visitors are allowed on the property out side of those operating times only if they are accompanied by a staff member.

Please be respectful and keep loud voices and noises to a minimum.

Leave No Trace - Carry-In, Carry-Out - Take all trash with you.
Refund Policies for Family and Adult Programs
Please consider using your refund to make a donation to support TNC’s mission.
One-Time Programs

A refund will be offered in the case that a program is cancelled or rescheduled by Tenafly Nature Center (e.g. insufficient registration or inclement weather).

In the case that an individual must cancel their registration. Refunds will vary based on when the request for cancellation is received:
More than 7 days notice
100% refunded
More than 48 hours notice
50% refunded
Less than 48 hours notice
no refund -
If your refund totals less than $20, then a credit for future program fees will be issued.

If your total refund is greater than $20, then you can choose to receive a refund in the form of a credit or as a reimbursement.

Any credit's issues must be used within one year of the original date of purchase.
Series

No refunds will be given after a series begins.

For series based programs with inclement weather dates if Tenafly Nature Center cancels (e.g. inclement weather) no refund will be given. Instead one of the unused rain/snow dates will be utilized.
Other

Membership is a tax-deductible donation with year-round benefits, and is non-refundable.

The staff reserves the right to cancel registration without refund for unacceptable behavior or children registered for the incorrect age group/grade level.

Nature Day Camp (vacation or summer), School, Scout, Birthday Parties, Adult, Library, Senior Center, Garden Club, or other group programs and special events have different refund policies. Please see those pages for additional information.
